Independence Day Pics (Finally!!!)

Here are some pics of what we did over the 4th of July weekend. I tried posting them in order, but blogger is fabulous at mixing things up :) We had such a fun weekend and it was so HOT! Nate and I have had so much fun just with our little girls this summer and Independence Day is one of our favorite holidays by far. On the 3rd, it was Nate's birthday, so we celebrated with some festive pie (Nate's not a big fan of cake so I made him a blueberry/raspberry pie). We then went to Southlake, Texas for their holiday celebration. It was over 100 degrees that weekend and we were roasting, but having fun. Keilah and Nate got patriotic stick-on tattoos and Keilah made sand art. We also watched the fireworks that night (we really wished we were in New Canaan...). Keilah and Linnea weren't scared at all and enjoyed all the bright lights and colors.

On the actual 4th, our subdivision had a Children's Parade. We decorated Keilah's tricycle and went around the block with all the other kids in the parade. We then ate hot dogs and watermelon while Keilah played in the park. I think it was 90+ degrees and it was only 11:00 AM! We went swimming in the afternoon and had a bunch of awesome friends over for a bbq. We had potato salad, hamburgers, and patriotic cheesecake. It was a great weekend, very relaxing, and full of fun!

I'm festive!

Linnea's not so impressed, but me and Keilah loved the fireworks!
"Little Sister" taking a break at The Corner Bakery Cafe to beat the heat
Doesn't Nate have one hot babe in this car? :)
The masses just waiting for the fireworks to start
Keilah bobbing for ducks (she sat in the water and got sopping wet!)
Look at my sand art, Mommy!
Patriotic stick-on tattoos. Go USA!
USA is number one!

I agree with Nate, pie is so much better than cake. I loved all of the pictures! You look great Annika! You are so beautiful!

Tyler loves cheese cake for his birthday rather than cake too... what fun adventures you had over the holidays. Annika, you look fabulous for having such a small baby. You go girl.
