Halloween was a blast! Nate got in from Dallas around 7, just in time to catch the end of trick-or-treating. New Canaan, the town in which we live, is awesome for Halloween. If you ever watch the Disney Halloween movies or any other movie, our town looks like those in the movies. It has leaves piled up everywhere along the street. The air is brisk and clean. The houses are all decorated with Jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, and cobwebs. The old age of the houses and the semi-dimly lit streets add to the spookiness. We went trick-or-treating with the Hoyts and the Mitchells in from our ward. We only went down a couple of streets, but Keilah (or should I say we) got hooked up with tons of candy. I think people overestimate their candy supply so if you go at the end of the evening, they're so eager to get rid of it that they pile it into the buckets! Keilah was a very good trick-or-treater. She would lean over into the people's bowls and grab the candy. She'd usually grab two or three pieces and stick them immediately in her mouth and start sucking on them, but we're still very proud of her :) I made a great pumpkin pie dessert and we ate that following our outing. Nate and I dressed up as semi-pirates (definitely not as much as at our ward party). Keilah's first Halloween was awesome and we're so glad we now have memories to share with our family and friends.
