I made the red velvet cake, but can you tell that Nate decorated it? :)
My beautiful birthday roses
Making my wish!
So yesterday I turned 28. I always thought that when I got to be this old I would've accomplished more, although I know I've accomplished a lot. I think it's just one of those times where you never imagined reaching this age. However, I loved my birthday and had a blast. Nate and Keilah made me breakfast in bed and Keilah and I sat and watched "Little Einsteins" (Keilah calls this her "Blastoff!" show). Then we just relaxed during the day and played around the house. Nate came home from work and we went to the Northeast Mall and did some window shopping. We grabbed some delicious Chinese take-out and went home. Nate then gave me my presents. He first gave me a dozen orange-tipped yellow roses (lovely!). He then told me we have 2 tickets to see The Temptations and The Four Tops at the end of the month at the Nokia Theatre. (Nate gets hook-ups from work for concerts sometimes. I'm so excited!). Then he presented me with my very own Kitchenaid Mixer!!!!! I've wanted one forever and I'm lucky enough to have one. The best present though was thoughts and well wishes from all my friends and family everywhere. It's hard being away from people when I want to celebrate with them, but thanks to all of you who called, e-mailed, texted, and posted. I love you all very much and thank you for making the past 28 years totally awesome :)
