Owies

It's been a week since I've posted and there's a darn good reason behind it too!  Last Sunday morning Keilah woke up like nothing was different.  While she was in the shower she began vomiting.  For some reason, I didn't think anything of it.  She didn't have a fever and she was complaining of wanting more food.  So, I got her a sippy cup of milk and we went off to ward choir.  Right as we got her into the car after choir, she puked all over herself, the carseat, and the car.  Milk is not yummy when it comes back up... it stinks sooooooo badly!  Well, I figured I wasn't going to church after that and that Keilah had just a little 24-hour bug like most kids get (thanks to nursery and play areas at the mall!).  Well, it got so bad that Nate decided to stay home from church too and help me.  Keilah couldn't keep anything down and was crying and so sad that it made me hurt.  Nothing is worse than a little girl who's sick.  I would ask her if her tummy was owie and all she could say was, "Yeah!" through moans and cries.

Move ahead two days.  It's St. Patrick's Day and I was thinking that Keilah had to be over the worst of it by now.  She had diarrhea and a slight fever on Monday so we took her to the doctor on Tuesday (St. Patty's Day).  Her doctor, Dr. Hunt, is amazing.  She gave Keilah some Zofran and told us that if it didn't work to take her to urgent care and get her on an IV.  Well, hallelujah for Zofran!  It helped Keilah keep food down, although she had terrible diarrhea still.  This made her get a bad rash on her bum.  She ran from me every time I needed to change her diaper.  I honestly couldn't tell who was crying more sometimes, me or Keilah.  The poor girl had been through enough!

Well, finally things began to look up by Wednesday night.  By Thursday the vomiting and diarrhea had stopped and my little girl was smiling and laughing once more.  The weekend was great weather and we took advantage of it by going to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens for an early afternoon picnic.  We also went to a birthday party for Sienna, a friend of Keilah's in the ward.  Keilah loved it.  All Saturday she kept saying, "Happy Sienna!"  meaning happy birthday to Sienna.

Keilah is such a love of my life and it was very hard to see her so sick.  I'm grateful for Priesthood blessings, prayers, and modern medicine.  Nate and I thankfully never got the bug and we've felt fine through it all.

OH!  Keilah also can count to ten all by herself now.  She's so cute.  I'm going to try and get it on video for everyone.  I love my little princess and her cute little voice as she is learning to talk more each day.

Sounds like a miserable couple of days! I am glad that she is on the mend and that you both avoided the bug!

Poor girl! :( I'm glad she's feeling better.

Hey, something funny, my little brother is training with Nic's wife at Timpanogos high school. He throws shot put. I guess he trained with Nic the other day too...small world! He was training with Bish last summer and they all got introduced, etc, etc. Anyway, I thought that was funny.

I'm glad she's feeling better. That sounded like a rough ordeal.
