I can't begin to express the love I have for my child and I know you all feel the same way about your children. Keilah fell down the stairs this weekend. Not just down the stairs, down 14 very old and very hard wooden stairs. I saw the whole thing before my eyes and I couldn't catch up quite fast enough. She cried and I cried, but in the end we checked her thoroughly and she didn't have any signs of head trauma or broken bones, just a lot of bruises and tears. Well, yesterday morning, Keilah woke up with a huge bump on the right side of her head. We realized that this could be serious so we took her to the ER and bypassed church. The doctor suggested that we give her a CAT scan. Putting my child on that table and getting her to be still was the hardest thing I've ever done. I was very worried that something major was going to be wrong with her and the doctors would have to operate and all of those fears and worries just piled on me. Thankfully Keilah's fine and she's doing well. We're just trying to keep her from falling on her bruise (a.k.a. a cephalic hematoma) and we bought a gate to keep her from falling down any more stairs! Needless to say, I'm mad at my house and probably won't forgive it for a very long time. As for Nate and myself, we are so grateful for the power of the Priesthood and the knowledge we have of the Atonement. The scripture that popped into my head when this was all happening was, "Be still and know that I am God." Amen! Nate's in Lake Tahoe this week for a "team building" experience so I'm on
my guard to keep Keilah new-bruise free!

You can see Keilah's bump on the
right side of her head as we're waiting to go in and get a CAT scan. And then here she is going in. I'm wearing a sexy lead suit trying to calm her down.

Oh Annika!! I hope her "hematoma" gets better fast!! I know the feeling with not being able to act as fast as it is happening! We've been to the ER several times in the almost 4 years of being a mom! Just know that you are a great mom and that she will be better faster than you probably think!! Good thing she has such a good set of parents to love her to pieces!
I am so sorry that happened to you! What a scary experience. I am so glad that she is okay.
